Welcome Coach MaKenzie!

Head coach for Super Stars

Updated Tuesday December 4, 2018 by Heather Dougherty.

We'd like to welcome Coach MaKenzie to the Scarborough Cheering Club! We are so happy to have Coach MaKenzie join our program.  She has been cheering for thirteen years and has coached at all levels from rec programs through All-Star teams. SCC is lucky to have her as the head coach of our Super Stars, and she will be helping with our Shooting Stars team as well. WELCOME Coach MaKenzie! Here is a little introduction from MaKenzie:

"I have been cheering for thirteen years. I started cheering in my school rec program in the third grade, and cheered all the way up through high school at Greely. I started coaching as an assistant coach for the Cumberland rec teams in eighth grade, and continued to work with their super stars team all the way through high school. During my freshman year I started all start cheerleading at Elite All Stars of Maine, where I stayed for four years, winning a second place title at the D2 summit in 2016. I then moved to Port City Athletics and have been with them all three years, coaching some of their tiny tuts teams, cheering on their afterlife teams, helping head coach Devin Rheaume with high school team choreography services, and helping to coach our level one and two tumbling classes. I am so exited about our new partnership with Scarborough cheering club, and can’t wait to get our season started as the new head coach for the 6-8th grade super stars team!!"
